Kapal Selam Monument or Monkasel is a submarine museum located in Embong Kaliasin, Genteng, Surabaya. This monument is actually a submarine KRI Pasopati 410, one of the Indonesian Navy’s fleets made in the Soviet Union in 1952 and has been involved in the Battle of Arafura Sea in the mission to liberate West Irian from the Dutch East Indies.
Monkasel officially opened on July 15, 1998 and designated as one of the attractions in Surabaya. With an entrance fee of IDR 5,000, the monument that called as the largest submarine monument in the region is also equipped with various facilities such as Video Rama, Music Live, Swimming Pool for children and Water Recreation on the Kalimas river.
